We have a tendency to think of improvisation in two ways— either as random squeaks and squawks, or as embellishments of melodies abd harmonic progressions. Often, it has rules and even scores.

But our featured artists are taking a different path
No scores, no game plan, they’ll use a plethora of unique instruments to create new soundscapes, textures, melodies and harmonies, all on the fly. Removing barriers between their expression and your ears, Bridger and Schürmer will explore non hierarchic tonal improvisation in this homage to the ephemeral, inspired by the 2024 Total Eclipse.
